Welcome to a gritty, twisted world...
The art of Dark / Light is carved from the same bones as the game itself—raw, jagged, and full of teeth. It doesn’t just decorate the pages—it defines the world. Every line hums with that old-school, grim-fantasy spirit—rough, strange, and steeped in shadow.
At the center of this ink-drenched madness is Friendly Mike. The guy doesn’t just draw—he summons. His art builds this world. Page after page of twisted brilliance, brutal elegance, and raw imagination. Mike’s work is the spine of this book—dark, vivid, and unforgettable. He doesn’t just know fantasy—he bleeds it.
Backing him up is his brother, Chubs—a wickedly talented force of chaos in his own right. His art hits different: haunted, heavy, and oddly beautiful. He’s a provocateur with a pencil, and his pieces bring mood, menace, and a strange kind of magic to the mix.
I threw in a few illustrations too—scratchy pieces made between late-night game design spirals. But mostly, I focused on wiring this beast together: the rules, the systems, the guts of Dark / Light. My role this time was to birth the game—and make sure it runs hot.
This isn’t just a fantasy world.
It’s a rough-cut myth. A whispered curse. A shot of ink straight to the brain.
Welcome to Dark / Light.
Welcome to grit.
Welcome to chaos.
